Greater Tampa Section ITE
What is GTSITE?The Greater Tampa Section of ITE (GTSITE) provides members in the greater Tampa area and southwest Florida with a network of local transportation professionals. GTSITE organizes events including lunch meetings with industry speakers, volunteering opportunities, social outings, and an annual awards banquet. The University of South Florida (USF) ITE Student Chapter is also part of the Greater Tampa Section.
ITE is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development, and management for any mode of ground transportation. ITE is a community of over 17,000 transportation professionals working in more than 90 countries worldwide. |

April 6: Student/Professional Mock Interviews
GTSITE conducted a mock interview session with students at CUTR on the USF Tampa Campus. This event provided students the valuable opportunity to practice being interviewed by industry professionals while also providing the professionals the chance to meet and interact with the students who comprise the next generation of the industry's workforce.

FDOT is currently seeking to fill two full-time positions in the District 7 Headquarters office: one for a TSM&O Engineer, and the other for a FMS/AMS Engineer.
- The TSM&O Engineer will be expected to: Manage the District's freeway/arterial operations program. Develop operations contract documents and associated funding plans; coordinate or oversee the work of consultant/contract staff. Oversee development and implementation of corridor control plans and traffic timing plans; sign and seal engineering documents as required. Coordinate development and implementation of standard operating procedures to achieve freeway operations objectives (among others).
- The FMS/AMS Engineer will be expected to: Directs and supervises staff and provides advanced engineering and technical guidance for the District Traffic Operations Office Freeway Management System (FMS) area. Meets regularly with employees to assign work, establish work objectives and timelines to ensure working objectives are met. Evaluates employee’s performance, during established timeframes, throughout the year and at formal review periods. Motivates and trains and/or ensures required training is available for staff. Communicates regularly with direct reports, both individually and in staff meetings. Ensures that all the paperwork required for processing pay documents and human resource matters, including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, filing vacant positions and separations, are completed accurately and processed in a timely manner.
Sam Schwartz is currently seeking a full-time Senior Transportation Engineer (Tampa office) to join an interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, urban design, transportation engineering) working on transportation infrastructure projects currently focused on Civil / Roadway Design and Project Development and Environment (PD&E) studies for roadways and complete streets. The successful candidate will possess the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) technical knowledge and serve as a contributor on project tasks, including roadway/street design, technical studies, drawings, reports, and presentations.

The City of Tampa is currently seeking to fill two full-time positions. One position is for a Right of Way Permitting Engineer Supervisor. The ideal candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for ROW use requirements, permit requirements, and construction standards. Must have strong knowledge and understanding of public rights-of-way, and sensitivity in dealing with various organizational and political issues. Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills is required. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ROW design and construction criteria.
The second position is for a Right of Way Permitting Engineer. This position predominately involves review and coordination of utility installation and construction.
