South Florida Section of ITE

What is SFITE?

The South Florida Section of ITE (SFITE) covers the greater Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach counties in  southeast Florida. SFITE organizes lunch meetings with industry speakers, volunteering opportunities, social outings, and an annual awards banquet. 

ITE is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development, and management for any mode of ground transportation.

Mid-Level Traffic Engineer ($100,000 to $135,000 base salary + benefits)
  • Remote or onsite, Fort Lauderdale, FL
  • PE or the ability to obtain a PE within 6 months of employment
  • BS in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of practical experience, or MS/ME in Transportation Engineering with at least 4 years of practical experience
  • Solid knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning concepts
  • Proficient in traffic analysis software packages such as HCS, Synchro, SIDRA, and VISSIM
  • Knowledge in spatial science and data analysis; experience in ArcGIS is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Cube/TransCAD/TransModeler
  • Relationship with FDOT, traffic engineering/planning agencies, and municipalities
  • Basic knowledge of project management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, adaptive, and flexible
Transportation Analyst ($60,000 to $75,000 base salary + benefits)
  • Remote or onsite, Fort Lauderdale, FL
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • MS/ME in Transportation Engineering preferred
  • Engineering Intern/Engineering in Training (EI/EIT) license or the ability to obtain a EI/EIT within 6 months of employment
  • Fundamental understanding of traffic operations, transportation planning, safety, and design
  • Knowledge in spatial science and data analysis; experience in ArcGIS is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of HCM/HCS, Synchro, SIDRA, TranCAD, and HSM
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, adaptive, and flexible
