HOW DOES ONE GET INVOLVED IN THE FLPRITE DISTRICT BOARD?

If you ever asked yourself this question, you have come to the right place. Involvement at the District level can occur in two ways.  If you want to help but maybe you do not have a significant amount of time to devote, you may join one of two District Councils, the Transportation Planning & Mobility Council, chaired by Emmeth Duran, or the Traffic Engineering and Safety Council, chaired by Vishal Kakkad (click here for contact info). There are also different committees to assist in, including Communications, Social Media, Student Relations, Traffic Bowl, and our newest committee, Young Members.

The second way to participate in the District Board is to run for a position on the Board. The elected positions on the Board consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Typically, a person runs for the office of either Secretary or Treasurer (it alternates every year), and if elected, serves for two years before ascending to Vice President in Year 3, and then serves a one-year term as President, before becoming Immediate Past President in the 5th year of involvement. To run for office, certain requirements or criteria need to be met and several forms will need to be filled out by potential candidates. The information regarding these matters, including the required forms, has been provided via the buttons below.
